The Limited Edition Project 300 is based on one of the iconic designs from the dawn of sport diving in the 1950s/1960s. Two different generations of this design were procured and issued to members of the United Kingdom’s Royal Navy in the 1960s and 1970s. The basic design is still in use by the UK MOD in the current incarnation of their diver watches. Since the 60s/70s the issued pieces, as well as their civilian versions, have become treasured collector’s items despite their storied maintenance issues.
Our version retains the essential visual cues of the reference design such as the hour markers, the hands, and the evocative curves of the mid-case. However we have always felt that the visual impact of the bezel and dial overpowered the mid-case of the vintage version so we subtly re-proportioned its steel frame. Our mid-case features a stronger presence giving it equal billing with the bezel and dial. In addition we added a sweeping curve to the case back, sapphire crystal, sapphire bezel inlay, BGW9 SuperLumiNova, finely finished Elabore grade ETA 2824-2, and solid end-link bracelet. The result, in our humble opinion, is a more cohesive visual design that still captures the reference design’s timeless quality while utilizing modern engineering and materials that improve reliability, serviceability, and comfort.
Limited to 500 pieces.
